  • Professional certifications:  Current, valid instructor certifications through AHA, Red Cross, ASHI, or equivalent nationally recognized organizations, and/or proven expertise in OSHA regulations and workplace safety management.

American Heart Association Basic Life Support Instructor Certification Course - $450

This comprehensive certification prepares you to instruct multiple AHA BLS courses.

Course Components:  Online BLS Instructor Essentials module; 4 hours of in-person classroom instruction; Hands-on skills assessment; Initial class monitoring (scheduled within 6 months)

What's Included:  Online BLS Instructor Essentials Course (emailed after registration); BLS Instructor Manual (e-book); BLS Student Provider Manual (hard copy or e-book); Alignment with AHA National Training Center; 2-year certification

AHA BLS Instructor Recertification Course - $350

This renewal course is designed for current AHA BLS Instructors with valid (unexpired) instructor cards who need to renew their certification. American Heart Association Instructors must renew their certification every two years to maintain their teaching credentials and stay current with AHA guidelines.

AHA Instructor Recertification Requirements:

  • Teaching requirement: Teach a minimum of 4 classes within the 2-year certification period (may include Instructor-Led and/or HeartCode courses)
  • Testing: Pass both Provider and Instructor exams for each discipline you teach
  • Skills verification: Complete hands-on skills verification for each discipline
  • Stay current: Keep up-to-date with all AHA guideline updates and program changes
  • Monitoring: Complete monitoring by a Training Center Coordinator or designated AHA Faculty instructor
  • Standards compliance: Maintain AHA standards as outlined in the ECC Leadership Code of Conduct and Program Administration Manual (PAM)

Important: Failure to meet these requirements will require you to retake the full Instructor Course, may result in disqualification from the Training Center, or possible termination of certification.

Your monitoring instructor will complete all necessary paperwork to process your renewal with the AHA Training Center.

ACLS, PALS & BLS Instructor Certification Package - $1,600

This comprehensive combo course certifies healthcare professionals to teach BLS, ACLS, and PALS programs nationwide. This is an 8-hour, onsite course.

Prerequisites: Current provider certification in all 3 courses. All provider certifications must be valid (unexpired) at the time of the course

What's Included:

  • Onsite BLS, ACLS, and PALS Instructor Essentials training
  • Instructor manuals for all three disciplines (e-book format)
  • Student provider manuals
  • Initial class monitoring for each discipline
  • 2-year instructor certification for all three courses

American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Instructor Certification Course - $600

Become an American Heart Association ACLS Instructor and teach Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support courses throughout California and the United States. This is an onsite instructor training and skills assessment with initial class monitoring.

  • Non-refundable: This instructor course is non-refundable. If you do not complete all certification steps, you are not eligible for a refund.
  • Location requirement: In-person instruction, skills assessment, and monitoring are required.
  • Training center commitment: Instructors may not transfer to a different training center for the first 18 months per the Instructor Contract.

PALS Instructor Certification Course - $600

Become an American Heart Association PALS Instructor and teach Pediatric Advanced Life Support courses throughout the United States. This is an onsite instructor training and skills assessment with initial class monitoring.

Prerequisites:  Current AHA PALS Provider certification (must be valid and unexpired); Complete pre-course assessment at https://elearning.heart.org/course/427

  • PALS Instructor Manual (e-book or printed)
  • Instructor Essentials PALS exam
  • Initial class monitoring
